INFORMATION SECURITY

INFORMATION SECURITY

In modern days, a lot of digital data, and information is saved on the internet. By doing a little bit of research we can get all the information we need. For this reason, we need to secure our data. I think information security means protection of data owned by a person or companies from threats. Protecting information are a crucial task, and information is one of the most important assets.

If the information is left unprotected, the information can accessible by anyone. In addition, if attackers get the information, they are used to do harmful things to the company. This is especially important to protect data and give access to only authorized individuals.

Three examples of the relationship between Security and Convenience

1. Two-Factor Authentication for online accounts, means it takes another device or account to access. Two-Factor Authentications include: send message to your carrier, and setup another email to access. It very secure, but not convenient to the user. In my point of view it makes difficult because someday the phone will be off, or left at home, on that reason it is not accessible to your online account.

2. Company Databases, company requires the user to change passwords every 90 days, this is secure but, I think not convenient because, I need to create brand new password that is not same as old one, at the end, I have to memorize my new passwords every 90 days.

3. Storing your passwords in your web browser. This is very convenient for the person who uses advance passwords, but it not secure because it is saved to the browsers, and there is hacking tools to see saved passwords.
