What is Waterfall Project Management method?

Waterfall Project management is to be executed formally, each of phases have to executed in a linear fashion, that each phase has to be completed before the next phase can begin, and phases are never repeated, unless there is a massive failure. Waterfall method have at least five to seven phases that follow linear order. Requirements – Gather and document, Design – user interface designs, Implementation – Development, code and unit tests, Verification – Quality Assurance testing, and Maintenance – Fix any issues. And each phase is dependent on each other.

Activities on waterfall methods needs to happen in the exact order and one set activities cannot start before the previous one ends. That’s why planning is extremely important thing on waterfall method.
